Wenceslaus II of Bohemia

Welcome (be greeted!), a noble traveller! I am Wacław, the son of great Przemyslaw Ottokar, the king of Czech and Poland. I have expelled this small Piast – Wladyslaw far away to Rome, as he had immeasurably intrigued. It was me, who endued the royalty to this place that had been lost. It was my idea (not to anyone else) to build the fortress here on this hill!

This is thanks to me, for my money and my plan, I have built the first tower, which today you cannot see unfortunately. There has only been a mark of relic, the circle from stones in the place of its previous existence, which you can see near the middle tower on the Upper Castle. It’s worth to add that it was a graceful, burly and walled of tower…what a pity! But not only the castle is owed to my kingship by Checiny and even the whole country. This was me, who has the district head institution brought in and which in all boroughs in Poland were then implemented. And here – here in Checiny, the starosts were on duty, the primary statesmen. Look at the castle my dear tourist! Go and admire the piece of art of your king!
